2009: End Of Wayne?
Now I know I can't be the only person thinking that Wayne won't make it to 2010...Am I? I read the news and this recent news I read has me thinking. He was found unconscious. That already doesnt sound like a good sign. Remember, they found Pimp C in the same state when he died.
On top of that, his rhymes are slowing falling into the garbage bin. He is being consumed by Syrup and Autotune. Sometimes the people around Wayne should rethink making money off this man and worry about his health. His life. I don't have much to say. I wouldn't nor am I wishing death on him but I wouldn't be surprised if something did happen. You keep that lifestyle going... The "rockstar" lifestyle and it'll eventually be the end of you....
DJ Scream & Yo Gotti - Cocaine Muzik 3 Review
If any rapper deserves to be on a bigger scale, it’s definitely Yo Gotti. For the past 5 years he’s been in and out of the limelight but still remains an underground favorite. A trap rapper of sorts, some feel as though he was left out of the XXL cover that featured Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, Shawty Lo, and Soulja Boy. Despite not being from the ATL, Gotti has been putting on Memphis since his start and should be getting the same, if not more, publicity as the 4 artists above.
This hasn’t stopped him from the music scene. In between working on his next album and doing shows, Gotti has put out his “Cocaine Muzik” series with the likes of DJ Smallz, DJ Drama, and now DJ Scream. All 3 DJs are a huge factor down south so they have garnered the attention of mixtape fans everywhere. “Cocaine Muzik 3” hits even harder than the last 2 installments. Scream has worked with everyone in the game from Mistah Fab to Rich Boy and everyone in between. So while Scream is in his prime and Gotti is as well, it was only a matter of time before the 2 linked up.
The gritty and grimy voiced rapper begins with “For My People,” recapping his history in the game from Def Jam to making 100Gs off his Dope songs. He isn’t the type to sweet talk the ladies but he does make it clear what he is looking for on “5 Star Bitch.” “Shawty walk like talk like she knows that she the shit” is just one of the credentials you’ll need. The word “Swag” needs to be retired and shouldn’t be a song title. Not even Gotti can give it a good look but he can look for the celebrity females well on the remix to Hurricane Chris’ “Halle Berry.”
Kid Cudi’s “Day & Night” gets flipped around to “Night & Day” for Gotti to talk about his dreams of getting rich, the hood, and trying to stop selling bricks. From this point on, the tape gets pretty boring from All-star joining him on the “Maybach Music Pt. 2” beat to spitting over Ron Browz’s “Jumping out the Window.” The very last song features a DJ Drama intro and appears to be a leftover from their tape. At least Yo Gotti can say he started out strong and finished strong.
“Cocaine Muzik 3” isn’t wack but it doesn’t sync up with the other 2 volumes which have been dubbed underground classics by countless fans. The songs were pretty short most of the time and Gotti kept the features to a minimum which was good for the people who just want to hear him.
